Grazrutsoka celebrates World AIDS Day in Nigeria! On December 1st, 2011, Grazrutsoka organized a football competition at 6 public schools in Lagos State in celebration of World AIDS Day. Over 300 enthusiastic students dribbled the football in an inter-active session teaching them how to tackle risks to prevent HIV infection. The large turnout is a testimony to the successful combination of popular sport and effective programming to fight AIDS.

CSI+ Leads FIFA Field Survey in Ghana and Rwanda
CSI’s local and international teams designed and carried out a baseline survey for sports for development programing in Ghana and Rwanda. The assessment included in-person surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews.
CSI’s assessment team focused particularly on girls’ participation as girls have traditionally been under-served in sports programming in Africa. After analyzing the findings, CSI+ made a series of recommendations for program implementation and sustainability.
USAID Organizes Mini-University for Egyptian Public Health Officials and Students
The Mini-University was an interactive event designed for Egyptian professionals and students who are leaders in improving the country’s health. During 16 interactive sessions, participants learned from experts and each other. Topics ranged from using mobile technology in health care to workforce planning and business partnerships in markets for health services. CSI+ Provides Training at adidas Exchange Programme in Ghana
Within the framework of the adidas Exchange Programme West Africa, CSI+ Regional Director for Sub-Saharan Africa Charlotte Obidairo recently led an organizational development workshop for 13 streetfootballworld network members from 10 West African countries. Members of streetfootballworld – a social profit organisation that links relevant actors in the field of Development through Football – gathered in Bunso, Ghana from 27-29 October not only to enhance their football coaching methods, but to improve their organisational development skills.
Supporting Arab Entrepreneurs
CSI+ joins other business leaders in the Middle East and North Africa to support a new generation of Arab entrepreneurs. The MENA 100 business plan competition is designed to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. CSI+ Conducts Resource Mobilization Trainings For WHO/AFRO
CSI+ has over the last several months facilitated a series of 3-day Resource Mobilization workshops for WHO teams in Burkina Faso (Ouagadougou), Gabon (Libreville), Zimbabwe (Harare) and the WHO/AFRO regional office in Congo (Brazzaville).
African Development Bank Hosts Meeting on Social Protection
On 2-3 December 2010, CSI+ joined the African Development Bank in organizing and facilitating a consultative meeting on Social Protection with high-level experts from Africa and Europe. Participants in the day and a half long event included practitioners from UN Agencies, Bilateral Aid Agencies, Regional Member Countries, in addition to relevant Bank staff.
