Salma is a highly qualified international gender expert specialised in Gender Assessments and in Development of strategic intervention and Gender Action Plans. A Jordanian citizen she has worked on a number of government and development agency assignments  including but not limited to  gender assessment and development of a strategic intervention for the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD),  gender assessment and development of an action plans for UNDP, joint workplans and proposals on multi-stakeholder joint programming on Violence against Women and gender audit of strategies, programmes and internal operations. She has worked with a string of UN agencies including UNDP, UNICEF and UNFPA. 

Salma is a highly motivated consultant characterized by her excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and advocacy skills. She is furthermore an experienced speaker,lecturer and researcher and has published a wealth of papers and articles presented in the context of high-level international summits.

She holds a PhD in Planning Studies and Political Ecology and a MSc Environmentally Sustainable Development both from from University College of London, London, United Kingdom. She furthermore has a BSc. Architectural Engineering from University of Amman, Jordan.
