Corporate Social Responsibility

CSI+ is dedicated to getting development right and strongly believes in collective action. Over the years we have been facilitating and promoting meaningful corporate social investment across Africa.

CsrCorporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project Innovates the Vanilla Market in Uganda. CSI+ has designed and is playing a central role in the implementation of a CSR partnership between a major, global flavor company and a local vanilla processing company in Uganda. The innovative project is creating a market for sustainably sourced Ugandan vanilla as well as supporting a series of mutually re-inforcing activities to improve the livelihoods of some of the most impoverished farmers. The project is supported by the Danida Business Partnership.

ForestDesigned a "Company Driven Rural Development" Business Model with Continental Forests in Uganda. CSI+ helped design a "Company Driven Rural Development" Business Model together with a Danish forestry investment company and a local Ugandan plantation company focusing on sustainable forestry in the Kikonda forest plantation in Uganda. The design of this model relied heavily on the strong evidence-base available, using an in-depth baseline study conducted in the area a few months prior to the project design. The model focused on ensuring that the project would be catalytic in building a strong foundation for a long term sustainable approach balancing commercial interests, environmental protection and community outreach. The project recently received Danida co-financing as part of the Danida Business Partnerships (DBP).
